March, 13. 2006 Curitiba - Today the third meeting of the Conference to the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety has been opend. The Governor of Paraná clearly marked his opposition on gene technology.
The environment minister, presiding the conference did surprisingly not appear. She refuses to take the chair as long as Brazil will not change its position on LMOs.
