waehrend gestern in Schottland diverse aktionen liefen, um den gipfel zu blokieren. gab es gleichzeitig einen GlobalActionDay. hierzu gab es einen aufruf von PGA. ueberall auf der welt sollten an diesem tag aktionen stattfinden, um die politik der G8 lokal zu verorten, und um den menschen in Schottland solidaritaet zu zeigen. in einem versuch die proteste in Schottland zu verhindern, hat die polizei das Stirling Camp - Eco Village - umzingelt und den parkplatz mit taschenlampen durchsucht. in der zwischenzeit werden die proteste gegen den G8 fortgesetzt. laufend updates...

[G8] kriminalisierung und uebergriffe gegen proteste

nach den erfolgreichen aktionen von gestern, sollen nun saemtliche proteste gegen den G8-gipfel im keim erstickt werden.
im laufe der letzten tage wurden mehrere hundert menschen wahllos festgenommen, von denen nun viele als >raedelsfuehrer< angeklagt werden sollen. darunter sind auch viele aktivisten aus deutschland. dabei wurden auch gezielt Leute herausgegriffen, die in den infopoints uebernachtet haben oder medienaktivistisch aktiv waren. ueberall in Glasgow und Edinburgh gehen willkuerliche verhaftungen auf den strassen weiter. neben den demonstrationen und angekuendigten blockaden beim G8-gipfel in Schottland, finden auch noch andere veranstaltungen statt. so ist im universitaetsgebauede die sogenannte >Edinburgh Convergence 2005<, wo verteilt auf mehrere tage diverse diskussionsveranstaltungen, workshops, filmvorfuehrungen und austellungen im angebot sind.
zusaetzlich gab es heute in Glasgow die >Make Borders History< tour und in Edinburgh eine Irak-antikriegsdemonstration sowie die ersten berichte aus dem camp bei Stirling.
