Berechnungen von Greenpeace auf Basis eines Inventarberichts zeigen, dass gut zwei Drittel der der Radioaktivität in dem maroden Atommüll-Lager Asse II auf das Konto der kommerziellen Stromerzeugung gehen. Offiziell räumen die Stromkonzerne bisher nur ein, für einen kleinen Teil der eingelagerten Strahlenbelastung verantwortlich zu sein. Die elf TN85-Behälter mit hochradioaktivem Abfall sind erst in der Nacht auf den 11. November im überirdischen Zwischenlager Gorleben angekommen – einen Tag später als von der Polizei geplant. Am Abend des 7. November hatte der Transport die Plutoniumfabrik in La Hague verlassen. Antiatom-Aktivisten sehen in den vielen Gegenaktionen einen Erfolg und feiern die "Renaissance" der Bewegung. Big Blockade in Gorleben removed

On Saturday, 8th November, several hundred people began a blockade of the main gate of the temporary disposal site in Gorleben by sitting on the street. The action began directly after the Big Demonstration against the Castor transport, held in Gorleben. The blockaders, who numbered over 1000, were not removed by the police until Monday afternoon - 2 days after their action began. Wood and rope constructions, including numerous unmanned tripods and several tents, supported the crowd, as well as several tractors, and two activist climbers who hung a banner between two streetlamps directly over the Main Gate.

Das Wendland leistet weiter Widerstand

Mit 16 stündiger Verspätung erreichte der 11. Castortransport von La Hague nach Gorleben den Zielbahnhof Dannenberg-Ost. Dort müssen die elf TN 85 von den Waggons auf Tieflader umgeladen werden, um die letzten 20 Straßenkilometer ins Zwischenlager Gorleben transportiert zu werden.
Die Ankettaktion von drei Atomkraftgegnerinnen und - gegnern an der deutsch-französischen Grenze und die Blockadeaktionen auf den 60 Bahnkilometern ab Lüneburg führten zu der großen Verspätung.

Supergau der Endlagerfrage

Es ist seit Jahrzehnten bekannt, dass massiv Wasser in die Schachtanlage Asse II eindringt und sie deshalb abzusaufen droht. In dem ehemaligen Salzbergwerk wurde praktisch gegen alle Auflagen verstoßen, als zwischen 1965 bis 1995 Forschungs- und Entwicklungsarbeiten für die Endlagerung radioaktiver Abfälle in Salzformationen durchgeführt wurden. Nahezu unkontrolliert wurden mehr als 100.000 Fässer, darunter auch Kernbrennstoffe und sogar Plutonium, eingelagert. Die Fässer sind längst durchgerostet und das führt zur Bildung von radioaktiver Lauge, die das Grundwasser zu verseuchen droht. ... (telepolis.de - Ralf Streck)

While the Castor transport takes more time than expected to arrive at its destination - because of a blockade with three people who were locked-on at a concrete block at the French-German border - several blockades of hundreds of people sitting on the tracks took place in the region of Harlingen tonight. Even huge amounts of police forces with tanks, water canons, hundreds of police officers and special supply couldn't prevent people coming on the railway. This is a report from one of those blockades near Harlingen.

Castor: Welcoming International Guests

On Friday, 7th December international guests from around the world were welcomed in the Wendland through an information event in Dannenberg with the title „Nuclear Companies Deal World Wide – Our Resistance is International, Connected, and Knows No Borders“. Attendees from countries like France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Russia, Finland, the United States and Canada participate in the resistance against the Castor transport (high level radioactive material) to Gorleben in the „Wendland“ (Lower Saxony). Some of them told about the situation in their countries. The event was supported with music from a Berlin band „Nümmes Straßenrock“.

Richterliche Anhörung war eine Farce: Haftanordnung war schon vor Ankunft der Person vom Richter komplett fertig formuliert und geschrieben.

LG: Klettern und Pläneschmieden gegen Castor

Der Castor kommt – nicht durch? Vor wenigen Tagen wurde der Fahrplan des Castortransportes von La Hague nach Gorleben in der Zeit vom 7. November bis zum 10. November – trotz Verbotes, diese Informationen stehen in Frankreich unter Militärgeheimnis – veröffentlicht. Die Polizei hat ihrerseits wie gewohnt eine willkürliche Allgemeinverfügung - Spricht großflächiges Demonstrationsverbot und Mißachtung von Grundrechten - am 26. Oktober erlassen.
Aber wer hält sich denn überhaupt an solchen Verbote?
Zahlreiche Initiativen und Menschen haben Protest an der Castorstrecke entlang angekündigt.

Baubeginn für krASSE Berliner Endlagersuche

Während der Flughafen-Tempelhof schließt, wird heute in Berlin-Wilmerdorf ein neuer Berliner Standortvorteil erprobt: Trotz Regen finden gerade Bauarbeiten für eine sickerfeste Endlagersuche in Berlin statt.
Heute veranstaltet die „Münchenhausen-Gesellschaft zur Förderung von Akzeptanzproblemen“ erneut eine groß angelegte Probebohrung, diesmal hat der Salzstock Berlin- Wilmersdorf das Rennen um die alternative Standortsuche gewonnen.

Two weeks before 11 containers of highly active nuclear waste fused in glass are due to be delivered to Gorleben, police have published in the local newspaper a general directive about time and location limits on assembly rights from 9 to 18 November in the Gorleben area.
The announcement was buried between real estate and dating advertisements and gave no reasons for the bans.

Bislang sind es 23 Gruppen, vor allem aus dem norddeutschen Raum, die sich aus Anlass des bevorstehenden Castortransports zu einem Bündnis "gemeinsam zum Zug kommen" zusammengeschlossen haben. Mit einer großen gemeinsamen Aktion wollen sie sich einen Teil der Castorgleise aneignen. "Der Castor bleibt diesmal auf der Strecke - basta! Mit dieser Idee wollen wir an die Aktionserfahrungen anschließen, die in den vergangenen Jahren viele Menschen - in Heiligendamm, Hamburg und anderswo - spektrenübergreifend gesammelt haben."
